CHICAGO (BRAIN) — SRAM will open a new facility in the Varese region of Italy next year. The facility will be home to chainring spider manufacturer Ochain, which SRAM acquired in July. It also will include the new Technical Service Center (STS) that will assist Italian dealers, including warranty management for SRAM, RockShox, TIME, Quarq, and Ochain products.
"The Ochain acquisition opened the door for us to grow our presence in Italy across all channels," said Tibor Gijssen, SRAM's European aftermarket sales director. "This new structure will strengthen our ties with dealers, distribution partners, and the broader Italian cycling community."
SRAM said the facility also will serve as a collaboration hub with local partners and for a venue for events.
"This office is more than a service hub — it will be a cornerstone for our growth in the Italian market," said Steffen Fuchs, SRAM director of technical support.
Beltrami TSA, the brand's longtime distributor in Italy, will be responsible for paid technical services, regional race team support, and warranty services for Zipp at the STS facility. Beltrami will continue to run the SRAM Tech Academy, which trained more than 150 technicians in 2024.
In addition to Beltrami TSA, SRAM's other Italian distributor — Accell SEU Italia — will continue to distribute SRAM, RockShox, and Hammerhead, with Beltrami also handling TIME and Zipp. The European STS network includes facilities in Germany, Benelux, and France.
