GIVISIEZ, Switzerland (BRAIN) — Reto Aeschbacher, who has led Scott Sports' marketing for nearly 30 years, is leaving the company to become CEO of Bergbahnen Lenzerheide, the company that operates the cable cars and ski lifts in the Lenzerheide ski resort area in Switzerland.

"It was for me an incredible journey at Scott and I’m very grateful about the opportunity and trust I had from the leadership to be part of a fantastic team, building and shaping one of the most recognized brands in the sport world," Aeschbacher said on his LinkedIn page on Tuesday.  "Scott was for me a perfect playground, connecting work and my love for outdoor sports, building partnerships around the world and connecting with passionate consumers. I’m thankful about all the experiences, opportunities, and successes I was able to do at Scott.  After 3 decades it’s time for me to do the next step in my career."

In his 29 years at Scott, Aeschbacher filled roles extending from Racing and Promotion Manager, to Marketing Manager, Marketing Division Manager, Chief Marketing Officer, and Chief Digital Officer.

In a press release from Bergbahnen Lenzerheide, Aeschbacher said, "Lenzerheide is a fantastic destination in the Alps, with a strong positioning and a lot of potential. I'm excited to be developing this further with a team, and it fits perfectly with my passion for winter sports, biking, and mountains. The customer experience is paramount. I want to contribute my experience in brand management and customer-oriented thinking and action, and thus become a reliable and innovative service provider with LBB AG."

Scott Sports announced that Aeschbacher's last day at the company will be at the end of September. Scott announced that Matt Heitmann, currently chief marketing officer of Scott USA, will move to Switzerland to fill the newly created position of CGO, leading marketing and digital functions. Heitmann has experience at Backcountry, BMC and Canyon.
