Fix It Sticks introduces ratcheting T wrench

Published April 2, 2020

CHICAGO (BRAIN) — Fix It Sticks, best known for its lightweight wrenches that were launched with the help of crowdfunding campaigns, is launching a new tool designed for professional and home mechanics. The company says its new Ratcheting T-Way Wrench will replace mechanics' 3-way wrench in their apron pockets.

Brian Davis, the creator of Fix It Stick, said that during development of the new tool, the company captured time-lapse videos from local bike shops to monitor patterns and find ways to improve efficiency. The company found that mechanics often move from repair work to the sales floor so the new tool was designed to be portable, flexible, and fast for shop staff.

The T shape allows the tool to comfortably slide into a front pocket or apron pocket. It accepts 1/4-inch bits for adaptability. The ratcheting mechanism speeds up common tasks like installing bottle cages.

"Today's bike shops are fighting to be as efficient as possible. We're providing a tool that can increase sales on the floor and increase production on the stand. Small improvements add up," Davis said.

The tool retails for $40. More information: fixitsticks.com.
