IRVINE, Calif. (BRAIN) — Sena Technologies Inc., which features Bluetooth communication solutions for powersports and outdoor sports markets, unveiled new cycling helmets at Sea Otter Play in a live webinar with professional cyclist Lex Albrecht.

M1 & M1 EVO

The Sena M1 and M1 EVO Mountain Bike Helmets are bringing intercom communication to the mountain. The M1 and M1 EVO helmets feature a built-in communication system that allows users to speak with nearby riders. The M1 connects up to four nearby cyclists via Bluetooth Intercom. The M1 EVO allows an unlimited number of nearby riders to communicate in a connected Mesh network.

The helmets also allow for wireless smartphone connectivity so that riders can listen to music, GPS directions, take calls, and more. An integrated tail light offers improved visibility. Look for Sena’s mountain bike helmet to be available early next year in matte white, gray, and black.

R1 & R1 EVO

The R1 features Bluetooth technology with four intercom connections, while the R1 EVO introduces Mesh Networking to the cycling world. The R1 and R1 EVO feature Bluetooth 4.1 integration, meaning you can wirelessly pair your smartphone and take phone calls, listen to GPS directions, hear music, and hear cues from your fitness apps.

With the Mesh Intercom integrated, R1 EVO users can communicate with other riders within a half-mile (900 meters) range by connecting with the press of a button. Nine available channels let you switch between chat groups on different frequencies. In addition to Mesh Intercom, the R1 EVO is also equipped with a built-in tail light. The R1 EVO has an MSRP of $159 and is available in matte black and matte white. The R1 has an MSRP of $129 and is available in onyx black, electric tangerine, ice blue, matte white, and matte gray.

The X1S Bluetooth helmet features a new interior shape. The interior’s ergonomic intermediate oval fit and Sena’s spin-to-fit lock enables cyclists to fine-tune the fit. The X1S pairs to your smartphone via Bluetooth, allowing you to listen to music, hear GPS cues, and converse over the phone. The helmet also comes with an integrated FM radio and four-way intercom system, allowing riders to communicate with up to three other Sena Bluetooth-enabled devices.

Sena’s range of smart communications cycling helmets are available on BuySena.comAmazon, and through a network of dealers.
