BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Bang & Olufsen is known for sound quality and craftsmanship, and Rapha with performance cycling clothing. Together, they are introducing Beoplay E8 Sport earphones.
The limited-edition earphones will be part of Rapha’s indoor capsule collection, providing music to help increase enjoyment during training.
Beoplay E8 earphones, retailing for $350, are housed within a wireless charging case and feature Bang & Olufsen and Rapha’s logos on the earbuds and on the case.
The connection tone has been customized to the sound of the cowbell ringing, reminiscent of the crowds cheering at road and cyclocross races. The touch interface on the earbuds has grooves that improve grip. A variety of ear tips and fins allows fine-tuning a secure fit.
“I absolutely love the B&O E8 Sport earphones," said Pete Kennaugh, former professional cyclist and Olympic gold medalist who tested the earphones. "I find music highly inspiring during my indoor turbo sessions, when it can perhaps be more difficult to motivate yourself. The sound is brilliant, and they fit perfectly, which has always been challenging when using earbuds with the fear of them falling out, but the E8 stay in your ear no matter what and can be easily paused with one touch of a finger.”
With IP57-certified waterproofing, the earphones are resistant to water. The battery lasts up to seven hours per charge while the case provides three additional charges, giving an overall playtime in excess of 30 hours. Bluetooth 5.1, AAC and aptX codecs ensure connectivity and sound reproduction on all iOS and Android devices.
The Beoplay E8 Sport Rapha Edition will be available at www.rapha.cc, www.bang-olufsen.com, and in selected Bang & Olufsen stores and Rapha Clubhouses on Nov. 16.
