Published October 23, 2007

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (BRAIN)—Shore Events owner and mountain bike racer Richard Juryn died this past Sunday doing what he loved best, exploring the great outdoors.

Juryn’s friend, Denis Fontaine, also died in the kayaking accident in British Columbia’s Howe Sound, according to the Times Colonist newspaper. For complete details of accident, click on the Times Colonist link.

Juryn was a big time cross-country mountain biker. He also ran his own company, Shore Events—the company among other things handled Crankworx industry sponsorship and expo information.

A “Guest Book for Richard Juryn” Web site has been created for those that wish to share their memories of Juryn. You can visit the link at http://www.legacy.com/CAN-Vancouver/GB/GuestbookView.aspx?PersonId=95866199.

Juryn is survived by a wife and two teenage children.
