The 5th Spot

While we're talking Massachusetts, all you New England bike folks out there can help snag some dough for MassBike, the state's nonprofit (read: can always use the money) bike coalition.

MassBike has been selected to vie for a $4,000 donation from Patagonia, but the outdoor retailer's customers will have the final say in who gets the cash.

If you're in the area, stop by the Patagonia store at 346 Newbury Street in Boston and cast your vote by Thursday. And if you want to meet the brains behind MassBike, they'll be hanging in the store on Saturday.

If MassBike wins, the money will go toward projects like its "Guide for New Riders" to help educate cyclists and motorists.
