Pike Joining Huffy as Brand Manager

Published November 15, 2009

CENTERVILLE, OH (BRAIN)—Industry veteran Reed Pike starts Wednesday as brand manager of Huffy Bicycles.

“We are pleased to have Reed Pike coming to Huffy,” said Bill Smith, chief operating officer of Huffy, to Bicycle Retailer and Industry News on Friday. “Reed will be joining Huffy as brand manager working on our adult bikes. Huffy has had a successful year in spite of a very difficult retail environment. We are investing in our business by adding additional people resources in key product segments.”

Pike exited Raleigh America in March as his director of marketing position was eliminated. Before his four-year stint at Raleigh Pike was briefly an outside sales rep for Scott USA, joining that company in late June 2004 after a stint at Criterium Cycles in Colorado Springs. His previous experience includes outside sales for Schwinn, marketing and quality management at Specialized, marketing at RockShox and specialty retail sales and industry consulting. He also volunteered his time to help develop ASTM bicycle standards, most notably for the suspension fork group.

Pike was unavailable for comment.
