MerchantOS Signs Up 600th Retailer

Published May 12, 2010

SAN JOSE, CA (BRAIN)—An up and coming player in the POS market, MerchantOS, has just signed up its 600th retail location.

An easy to use Web-based point of sale system is driving rapid growth at this young upstart. For the first quarter of 2010 MerchantOS saw 28 percent in total growth of their business, and since 2008 they've grown 470 percent.

Chief software architect Justin Laing said, "We have a simple strategy that works: concentrate on creating an awesome product and delivering it with outstanding reliability and support."

Laing projects 90 percent growth for 2010. "We've seen very strong growth through the worst economic conditions in decades, and we expect rapid growth as the economy heats back up," Laing said.

About half of MerchantOS customers are independent bicycle dealers, with the other 50 percent made up of an array of specialty retail niches.
