Cyfac Acquires Catia PLM Express

Published July 12, 2010

LAGUNA HILLS, CA (BRAIN)—Cyfac International, builder of custom bicycle frames for more than 25 years, has signed a contract with Keonys, Europe’s No. 1 reseller of Dassault Systèmes Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) products, most notably the CATIA PLM Express solution.

"Using CATIA PLM Express to model future projects will not only enable us to completely optimize the technical and mechanical characteristics of our new frames right from the very first digital drafts, but will also allow us to anticipate all requirements from the production side in keeping with our unique manufacturing methods. We will be able to build a truly collaborative engineering process with our different partners, whether they are machinists, composite tube manufacturers, or graphic designers," said Aymeric Le Brun, managing director of Cyfac International, in a press release.

"We are entering a new phase in the production of custom high-performance frames that will satisfy our clients’ needs and desires whether they are professional partners or
individual riders. Additionally, the integration of Fabien Deweerdt, an Arts & Métiers engineer, to the Cyfac International team enables our brand to continue the in-house development of high-tech frames using the latest technologies and via a configuration that is adapted to our special manufacturing requirements. I’d really like to thank Keonys for their partnership in laying the groundwork for this project," Le Brun added.

The first fruits of this acquisition will reach the market starting in 2011. Cyfac bicycles and anthropometric tools for the Cyfac Postural System developed via these solutions,
will feature the Keonys and Dassault Systèmes logos.
