Midwest Bike Expo set for for Jan. 29 in Illinois • Park Tool adds to engineering and graphic design teams • Abus Mobile Security adds sales manager • Sugoi adds sales and design executives

COLLINSVILLE, IL (BRAIN)—The 2012 Midwest Bicycle Expo and Swap Meet is set to be held Sunday January 29 in Collinsville, in Illinois 12 minutes from St. Louis' Gateway Arch.

The expo will be open 10am-3pm and includes a classic bike shop. Admission is $5.

The expo is organized by Trailnet, a program that fosters healthy and active communities through innovative programs, planning, and policy that promote walking and bicycling throughout the St. Louis bi-state region.

Park Tool adds to engineering and graphic design teams

ST. PAUL, MN (BRAIN)—Park Tool added two new employees who started January 3. Max Wunderlich, a recent graduate of University of Minnesota with a degree in mechanical engineering, joins Park’s engineering team. Joel King, another recent Minnesota grad, will join the graphic design team, working on web content and production design.

Abus Mobile Security adds sales manager

Abus Mobile Security, a helmet and lock manufacturer, has added a North American sales manager. Collin Myers has worked in various positions in the bicycle and motorcycle industry, working for Cantitoe Road, AXO Sport America, Valencia Sport Group, AXIS Sport Group, SIXSIXONE, Answer Products, Helen's Cycles and more.

Sugoi adds sales and design executives

BURNABY, BC, Canada (BRAIN)—Sugoi Performance Apparel has made two key hires this month. The Dorel-owned brand has appointed Charles Russell as senior vice president of global sales and Rob Gill as senior designer.

Russell worked for Sugoi from 2002 to 2006 as vice president of sales. Prior to that he served various management roles at Bell Sports. More recently has was general manager of sales and marketing for Rocky Mountain Bicycles.

Gill has more than 15 years of experience creating technical apparel for outdoor companies. He created official
licensed merchandise for the 2010 Winter Olympics Games, as well as all official on-air apparel worn by officials and commentators. Gill developed multiple lifestyle apparel programs for Helly Hansen North America and designed multiple seasons of technical apparel for Cannondale Bicycles. Gill has also been working with Sugoi as a contractor for years and was responsible for designing Sugoi's “Formula FX” chamois.

In other news, Sugoi's PR and communications manager Sarah Cantrill is leaving the company to return to her native Australia.
