Dynacraft Launches Chainless Bike Line

Published February 25, 2009

AMERICAN CANYON, CA (BRAIN)⎯Dynacraft's Specialty Retail Group announced the debut of its 2009 Sonoma Chainless Bicycle Collection on Wednesday.

The Sonoma collection replaces Dynacraft's Dekra chainless line.

“We are building on our chainless experience but the Sonoma bikes are entirely new,” said Brett Wilmes, Dynacraft’s account representative who handles the Specialty Retail Group products.

“Given increasing interest in commuting and the advantages of chainless drivetrains we think people are increasingly interested in commuting option. I know a few women that have gotten their dresses caught in the chain ring or gouged a leg which has kept them off bikes. Chainless bikes are different,” he added.

There are two three-speed Sonoma Chainless models using three-speed Nexus hubs available in men’s and women’s models, the $399 urban commuter and $350 beach cruiser. The $499 Urban Voyager adds a seven-speed Nexus hub.

The Sonoma Chainless Bicycle Collection marks the second launch from Dynacraft's Specialty Retail Group. In 2007, Dynacraft entered into an exclusive licensing partnership with skateboarding legend Tony Hawk and created a line of bicycles under the “Tony Hawk Huckjam” brand.
