Wiggle recalls some Vitus kids bikes sold in the US because they don't have coaster brakes

Published September 10, 2021

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Wiggle Ltd. is recalling about 280 Vitus 14 and Vitus 16 kids bikes that the U.K. e-commerce vendor sold in the U.S. The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the bikes don't meet U.S. regulations for kids sidewalk bikes because they have handbrakes but no coaster brake.

The bikes were sold on Wiggle.com and ChainReactionCycles.com from January 2017 through April 2021 for about $280 for the VITUS 14 and about $300 for the VITUS 16.

Wiggle Ltd. is contacting all purchasers directly and is providing a free replacement wheel with a coaster brake.

Consumers who bought from Wiggle are told to go to www.wiggle.com and click on "Returns" under customer service for instructions. Consumers who bought from Chain Reaction Cycles are told to go to www.chainreactioncycles.com and click on "Returning an item" under customer service.

This recall involves VITUS 14 and VITUS 16 kids bikes. They were sold in multiple colors. VITUS is printed across the frame.

No injuries or incidents have been reported.
