Bell Sports recalls Slope adult helmets because of strap anchor defect

Published January 4, 2024

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Bell Sports recalled its Slope adult helmets because the strap anchor can dislodge from the helmet, failing to protect in the event of a crash.

The helmets are identified by an inner sticker that has the model name and B1161X. Only the adult-sized Slope helmets are being recalled.

About 11,000 helmets are affected, and no injuries or incidents have been reported. The helmets were sold in dark green and light blue.

Consumers should stop using the helmets and contact Bell for a refund at 800-456-2355 (Option 3) between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday or by email.

The Slope helmets were sold at Target, Fred Meyer, Academy, other stores nationwide and other websites from January 2023 through April 2023 for about $30.
