WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — PNW Components is recalling about 1,200 Loam Gen 2 aluminum pedals because the axle can crack and cause the body to detach from the crank.
Four reports of the axle cracking and detaching have been reported but no injuries have occurred. Consumers should contact PNW Components to receive free replacement axles. The pedals were sold aftermarket through online retailers and shops.
The pedal is a platform style (non-clip) and can be identified by a "Tectonic" logo laser etched onto the pedal body on the left corner, on the same side as the threaded axle. They are available in black, silver, green, orange and purple.
The Loam Gen 2 pedals were sold at bike shops and online at PNWComponents.com, REI.com, Backcountry.com, and JensonUSA.com from June 2025 through November 2025 for about $160.
