WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — About 7,000 Malker Bicycle Light Sets are being recalled because they violate mandatory safety standards for products containing button cell and coin batteries that can be easily accessed by children and ingested. The light sets also do not have label warnings required by law.
When swallowed, the batteries can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns, and death, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. No injuries or incidents have been reported.
The lights were sold in four- or eight-pack sizes and made with a red silicone emit red light, black silicone emit white light, and white silicone emit white light. Each contains two CR2032 cell batteries. The lights have "Malker Bicycle Light" printed on labels on the front packaging.
Consumers should stop using the lights and contact Malker for a refund. The light should be disposed of and photographed in the trash, with the image emailed to USMalkerCustomerservice@outlook.com. The batteries should be disposed of or recycled by following local hazardous waste procedures.
The light sets were sold on Amazon.com from October 2025 through November 2025 for between $7 and $10.
