Gudook recalls adult helmets for lacking mandatory safety standards

Published June 4, 2026

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — About 520 Gudook Outdoor Sports adult helmets are being recalled because they fail to meet mandatory federal safety standards.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Chinese-manufactured helmets don't comply with the impact attenuation and certification requirements, failing to protect the rider during a crash. No injuries nor incidents have been reported.

The CPSC said consumers should stop using the helmets and contact Gudook Outdoor Sports for a refund. The helmets should be destroyed by cutting the straps and emailing a photo of the destroyed helmet, showing with the batch number, to lexi_kuyou@163.com. The batch number, model, and manufacturing date are printed on a label on the inside the helmet.

The recall is for the model KY-055 helmets, sold in blue with white and in size medium, fitting a head circumference of about 21.3 to 22.4 inches. The helmets have red padding, black straps, a black and red buckle with a black fit-adjustment knob. Only helmets with batch number 202503 and manufacturing date of March 2025 are included in the recall. "Gudook" is printed on the side.

The helmets were sold on Amazon.com from May 2025 through February 2026 for about $23.
