7mesh launches sub-100 gram rain jacket with Gore-Tex Active material

Published February 17, 2017

SQUAMISH, British Columbia (BRAIN) — 7mesh's new Oro Jacket combines the GORE-TEX Active fabric with innovative construction techniques and 7mesh patterning to produce a completely waterproof jacket weighing only 93 grams in a size medium.

Gore introduced the Active fabric last year; it's the company's lightest and most breathable waterproof fabric. In designing the Oro jacket, 7mesh worked to optimize fit and weight without sacrificing function. Vents also work as passthroughs for jersey pockets and the stuff sack doubles as an pocket when the jacket is being worn. Complex patterning reduces seam bulk, as does a reinforced raw edge hem which saves grams and provides 360-degree reflectivity. Tight pattern tolerances and 8mm seam tape shave more weight. It's available in XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL, in one color, black. Retail price is $299.
