SRAM Increases Advocacy Support

Published January 22, 2008

SAN DIEGO, CA (BRAIN)—SRAM committed more than $150,000 of additional funding to several national advocacy groups following John Burke’s presentation at the Bicycle Leadership Conference. Burke challenged companies to commit a larger percentage of budgets to fund advocacy groups.

SRAM will give $100,000 to Bikes Belong on top of its annual dues. In addition, it committed $25,000 to IMBA and $25,000 to the League of American Bicyclists.

“It’s clear to us that these organizations are really working hard to create a better bicycling world. Both the industry and SRAM stand to benefit enormously from those investments,” said John Nedeau, BPSA president and SRAM’s vice president of OEM sales.
