CGI Launches New MTB Site

Published August 18, 2009

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN)—Competitor Group, Inc. has launched an online publication focused on the mountain bike lifestyle at Singletrack.com.

“Singletrack.com aims to be the first and last word on all flavors of mountain biking,” said Jamie Bate, the site’s new editor. “It’s not a narrow take on one discipline or another, but an entertaining and informative site that all ages and styles will want to check out daily. We’re not about copping attitudes. We’re about sharing the experience.”

Bate comes to Singletrack.com having worked for more than 10 years at newspapers and freelancing. With his background in age group mountain bike racing and triathlons, Bate saw this as the perfect match.

"Being a lifelong cyclist, it just dovetailed perfectly," he said.

Staffed with a crew of seasoned cycling industry insiders and veteran journalists, all of whom are racers or rabid off-road riders, Singletrack.com aims to be the one-stop shop for the word on mountain biking. From expert gear and technical reviews to the low down on great places to ride, Singletrack.com aims to provide the content.

Singletrack.com will also leverage the editorial and technical resources of VeloNews and VeloNews.com with respected names such as Lennard Zinn, Matt Pacocha and Zack Vestal contributing to the content package.

Singletrack.com is based in Boulder, Colorado, along with VeloNews and VeloNews.com.
