HELSINKI, Finland (BRAIN)—Amer Sports, the Finnish parent company of Mavic, has appointed its senior vice president of marketing and business to consumer to its executive board.

Victor Duran will become a new member of the company’s executive board effective Jan.1. In a press release, Amer Sports said that Duran’s appointment is in line with its strategy to emphasize excellence in consumer-centric product creation and brand marketing, and strengthening commercial fundamentals through sales and channel management. Duran, who reports directly to Heikki Takala, president and CEO of Amer Sports, is responsible for heading Amer’s business to consumer development as well as group marketing development.

Duran joined Amer last March from HotHouse where he was a partner. He’s also worked for Zyman Group, Caterpillar EMEA and Proctor & Gamble.

Besides Mavic, Amer also owns Salomon, Wilson, Precor, Atomic, Suunto and Arc’teryx.
