NORTH VANCOUVER, BC (BRAIN) Friday July 27 2012 1:11 PM MT—Alpinestars has named Trident Sports its exclusive Canadian distributor for bicycle products.

“Trident Sports is excited to be partnering with a brand that has such a rich history in racing and developing leading edge products. Alpinestars blends innovative features with good value that help to improve the end user's riding experience,” said Dalen Stanley, sales/product manager for Trident’s cycling division.

Trident will be handling orders for 2012 product immediately and will show the 2013 collection at Expocycle 2013 in Toronto at the beginning of September.

Trident also will be looking to fill outside sales positions in select territories immediately.


Road Warrior offers reps discount pricing

APPLETON, WI (BRAIN) Friday July 27 2012 10:14 AM MT—Road Warrior Sports, which makes lightweight trailers for cars and trucks, is offering industry sales reps a discount program on its products. The program offers discounts of up to 12 percent. Deeper discounts are available for sales reps who are representing Road Warrior.

“We’ve had a strong reaction from consumers at shows and events across the country, and what we need to make that connection is a deeper network to reach retailers we’ve missed,” said Road Warrior Sports founder Larry Brown. “Plus, the trailer is an inherently useful tool for reps, whether they work for us or not, to carry lots of gear in an efficient way.”

Road Warrior's Atlas 8 trailer has 73 cubic feet of enclosed storage and can accept a Yakima rack to hold bikes or other sports equipment. It has an MSRP of $5,695.

CamelBak promotes two

PETALUMA, CA (BRAIN) Friday July 27 2012 10:24 AM MT—CamelBak has announced two promotions within its executive team.

Layne Rigney has been elevated to senior vice president of global sales. Rigney will now oversee all North American and international recreational sales as well as international government and military sales.

Mike Moore has been promoted to senior director of North American sales. He will continue to manage the domestic recreation business and will manage the domestic tactical retail business as well.


Currie graduates five territory managers

LOS ANGELES, CA (BRAIN) Friday July 27 2012 1:15 PM MT—Currie Technologies recently graduated five territory managers from its Road Show Boot Camp at the company’s headquarters in Chatsworth, California.

Each of the five territory managers are driving back into their territory in a new Nissan NV high-top van, wrapped like a rolling billboard and equipped with the IZIP Road Show demo fleet.

“Carrying a full range of Currie’s electric bikes, a pop-up tent and an outdoor test ride setup, the TMs are ready to support our dealers with regional events that will raise awareness and allow consumer and retailer test rides of our electric bikes. They will also support our sales reps in servicing, training and expanding our dealer network,” said Larry Pizzi, Currie Technologies' president. “After a full week of extensive boot camp training, these guys are ready to hit the road to promote IZIP, the best-selling electric bikes in the U.S.”

Chrome Industries sponsors messenger championshops

Chamois Butt'r to sponsor CrossVegas

PLEASANT VALLEY, MO (BRAIN) Friday July 27 2012 1:27 PM MT—Chamois Butt'r will be the official chamois cream of the 2012 CrossVegas race, to be held Sept. 19 in Las Vegas.

The sponsorship will highlight the brand's full line, with an emphasis on its new Eurostyle Sports Wash skin cleanser. A Sports Wash Cleaning Station will be at the finish of all Elite, USAC and Wheelers & Dealers races and racers will receive a free towel sprayed with the wash at the finish line.

The event, held during the Interbike Expo, regularly attracts more than 10,000 spectators.
