Patrick Brady named chief judge for NAHBS

Published February 18, 2014

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (BRAIN) – Patrick Brady, the publisher of RedKitePrayer.com, will be the chief judge at the North American Handmade Bicycle Show, which opens here on March 14.

Brady has a 20-year history of writing about custom frame builders for a variety of publications and was part of the judging team for the 2012 show in Sacramento.

"I'm really honored to have Don ask me not only to be a part of the judging, but to lead the team in identifying the cream of the crop among the world's frame builders. It's a daunting task given the incredible amount of talent that comes to the show, but it's also crazy amounts of fun."

The show runs through March 16. Show organizer Don Walker said he expects to announce the full judging team in the coming weeks.

"NAHBS has experienced tremendous growth since our first show in 2005," Walker said. "That year we had 23 exhibitors. In 2014 we will have 150-plus exhibitors. Frankly, I've needed more help and having a guy like Patrick volunteer his efforts to help with the judging frees me up to concentrate on other duties."

The show migrates to a new location each year; this will be the first year it's been held in the Southeast.
