Mosi Bicycles changes name to Mozie

Published September 30, 2014

SAN FRANCISCO (BRAIN) — Mosi Bicycles, a three-year-old San Francisco brand than makes European-styled city bikes, is changing its name to Mozie Bicycles.

The company said the words are pronounced the same (like "mosey") and the new spelling makes the pronunciation more clear, while also avoiding any conflict or confusion with Masi bikes.

"Feedback showed the new spelling evoked more of the European-style emotion we were hoping for than the prior spelling did," said Gabby Batto, a company representative.

Mozie Bicycles CEO Darren Buck said, "As we prepare for the company's next steps, adopting Mozie as our brand name signals that our vision is now complete ... We've received an incredible amount of positive response so far – and we believe we're now better prepared for the next stage in our growth after making this change. We are, more than ever, ready to make a real statement in the bike world – and to help lead the charge for the growth of bike culture both domestically and abroad."
