GPS watch maker Bia hires OutsidePR

Published October 7, 2014

SAUSALITO, Calif. (BRAIN) — Bia Sport, a Kickstarter-funded startup that offers a multi-sport GPS watch, has hired OutsidePR for public relations.

Bia Sport raised more than $400,000 on Kickstarter.com in 2012. The brand's watch, aimed at female mult-sport athletes, became available for purchase in June 2014. It offers 2G cellular connectivity, 17 hours of battery life, water resistance up to 50 meters, quick-loading GPS, SOS safety alerts, wireless upload to online training logs and more than a dozen workout modes.

"We are thrilled for the opportunity to work with Bia Sport," said OutsidePR president Gordon Wright. "So often companies try to 'shrink and pink' their product for the female consumer. Bia refused to adhere to this model and has truly created a multisport watch that is designed by women, for women. And truth be told, it's functionality is so impressive that men will be rushing to buy this watch as often as women."

OutsidePR will represent Bia Sport product in both consumer and trade media outreach, and also focus heavily on the online and blogging worlds.
