Trek Bicycle plans larger Wisconsin distribution center

Published November 21, 2014

WATERLOO, Wis. (BRAIN) — Trek Bicycle plans to move its global distribution center from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, to a new facility in Johnson Creek, about 17 miles west. The new 250,000-square-foot distribution center is expected to open by the end of 2015, Trek said.

The Johnson Creek facility is 50 percent larger than Trek's existing warehouse. Trek will begin moving inventory to the new facility next fall.

The move was announced Wednesday to the Oconomowoc-based employees. Trek said all have been offered positions at the new location.

"We're excited about the expanded capabilities this new facility offers us," said Roger Gierhart, Trek's vice president of supply chain. "We have always been committed to Wisconsin and this new center is going to help us become more efficient, streamline our warehousing and delivery processes, and gives us space to continue our growth."
