Hayes appoints four additions to its sales and marketing team

MEQUON, Wis. (BRAIN) — Hayes is bolstering its sales and marketing team by adding four new personnel to the department.

"The increased demand for our brands globally has reached a point that we want to increase the size of our sales and marketing team to support our global markets. Our growth has been achieved through great product and great service and these additions to our crew will ensure that we continue to exceed customer expectations," said Sean McNally, Hayes' global director of sales and marketing.

Gernot Mecke will assume the role of European account manager. In his role he will manage OE and aftermarket business in the EU. Gernot comes to Hayes from Merida Centurion.

"I've been a customer of Hayes for several years and have witnessed their explosive growth on the European continent. I'm also a lifelong and avid rider and have grown up with these brands. I look forward to digging in and promoting these brands and great products with our European customers and riders everywhere," said Gernot.

Zac Smith of Smithtech joins Hayes as a contractor to support Hayes' newly formed product specialist role. Most recently with Trident Sports, Smith has been a longtime service technician for Hayes products. He's also been a key member of the Hayes Test Pilot program, providing real-world inputs to the engineering team during the development cycle. He will continue to work from Vancouver in a support role for sales, marketing and product development.

"I've been a part of the Hayes family for a lot of years. I'm excited to take on this role at a deeper level and continue to share and contribute to the development of our great product," Smith said.

Adam Weitzner has assumed the role of aftermarket channel manager. He comes to Hayes from QBP where he was most recently in charge of global sales for the All City brand."These are exciting times for the Hayes group of brands. It's easy to see the momentum and I'm thrilled to get these products hung on more bikes around the world," Weitzner said.

Eric Schutt will be taking on the role of media and team relations manager for the U.S. market. Schutt has been with Hayes for three years and is a 20-year bike industry veteran with previous positions at SRAM and Ray's Mountain Bike Park in Milwaukee.

"I'm excited to be in this new role as our brands and athlete roster in the U.S. grows," Schutt said.
