Triathlon Business International announces new board members

LOS ANGELES (BRAIN) — Triathlon Business International, triathlon's trade group, has announced election results for its 2016-17 Board of Directors.

The TBI Board meets annually at the TBI Conference, and during the January 2016 meeting voted to reduce the size of the board from 23 to 13 members. The 23 TBI shareholders nominated board candidates and then elected 13 to guide the organization for the coming year.

The following are the TBI Board of Directors for 2016-17 (in alphabetical order):

  • Seton Claggett, TriSports.com
  • Emilio DeSoto, DeSoto Sports
  • John Duke, World Triathlon Corporation (new)
  • Dan Empfield, Slowtwitch.com
  • Peter Hurley, American Bicycle Group
  • Scott Kaylin, Champion System
  • Rob Klingensmith, Lens Agency (new)
  • Skip McDowell, Nytro Multisport
  • Julia Polloreno, Triathlete Magazine
  • Mike Reilly, Events.com.
  • Sam Renouf, ACTIVE Network
  • Gary Roethenbaugh, MultiSport Research, Ltd. (new)

Of the 13 members, 10 are shareholders and three are new additions from the general membership.

"On behalf of the shareholders, I want to congratulate the new board, and welcome our three new members," said interim TBI president Richard Adler. "We're looking forward to working with our membership and the industry, listening to their ideas and concerns, and continuing our efforts to support the growth of triathlon as a sport and a business."
