GreenGuru looks to Kickstarter for new pannier funding

Published April 18, 2014

BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — GreenGuru, which recycles used bike inner tubes and other materials into new products, is looking to the crowd funding site Kickstarter.com to fund production of a new product: a pannier designed for bike commuting and transportation.

The FreeRider pannier would have an accessory pocket and a large main pouch designed to carry a backpack, grocery bag or other large bag, or a 12-pack. The mounting hardware would be compatible with most racks and include a lock that secures the pannier to the bike.

The FreeRider would be made in Boulder of nylon fabric upcycled from a local tent and awning company and bike tubes.

The Kickstarter campaign ends June 14. The goal is to raise $4,000. So far, the campaign has raised about $1,900.
