Hexlox shows locking wheel nuts and thru-axles for e-bikes

Published April 20, 2024

MONTEREY, Calif. (BRAIN) — Hexlox, which specializes in locking bolts and nuts to secure components from theft, is showing two new solutions at the Sea Otter Classic, including a rear hub locking nut for e-bikes with rear-hub motors.

The Hexnut M12 works on e-bikes with rear hub motors like Zehus, Bafang, Mahle and others. It has an anti-spin ring and is fastened with a 6mm hex tool and secured with a 6mm Hexlox key.

The company's re-designed Hexlox thru axle is now manufactured in Germany and features a new, steelhead that solves the problem with worn-out hex sockets on soft aluminum heads. It will be offered in all common lengths, threads, and sizes – M12 Front and Rear, and M15 Front as well as QLoc. Hexlox is offering the part of aftermarket and OE sale.

"These products close a gap in our product catalog, specifically for e-bike riders. Finally we can offer security for all bikes and wheels," said Hexlox CEO Marcus Tonndorf

The Thru Axle and Hexnut come preinstalled on brands including Schindelhauer, Canyon and others. Hexlox is at the Sea Otter expo at booth Y41 with B&W International.
