Shinola opens popup store in San Francisco coffee shop

Published January 28, 2014

SAN FRANCISCO (BRAIN) — Shinola's made- in-Detroit bicycles, watches, leather goods and journals will be featured inside The Station SF's popup retail area through the end of March.

The Station SF is a coffee shop featuring a full menu created by chef Chris Dressick and coffee from local San Francisco roaster, Blue Bottle Coffee. The Station SF owner and managing partner Scott Penzerella also owns Studio Velo Cycling in Mill Valley, Calif.

“After nearly a year and a half supporting small, local brands in our popup retail area, The Station SF couldn't be more pleased to help bring Shinola to San Francisco,” said Penzarella.

Shinola has opened numerous popup stores across the country, but this is the first time it's been done in conjunction with a local retailer.

“We’ve had amazing success with Shinola at our bike shop, Studio Velo in Mill Valley, and we believe our customers at The Station SF will be equally enthusiastic about Detroit’s latest export.”

Besides Shinola, Studio Velo sells bikes from De Rosa, Pivot, Guru and others.
