Boulder-based e-commerce brand offers to buy unsold product inventory from retailers, offers new trade-in benefit to outdoor industry employees

(Boulder, CO – May 6, 2020) - The Pro’s Closet, the world’s largest and most trusted brand in pre-owned cycling, has announced that the company is reaching out to retailers who are affected by the current social and economic conditions. The Pro’s Closet is willing to make offers on any unsold or new inventory, or used bicycles that dealers have taken on trade. By providing immediate revenue, The Pro’s Closet believes they are able to help independent bicycle retailers weather the current storm and come out on the other side of it with healthy, viable businesses. Any dealer interested in working with The Pro’s Closet to reduce inventory should reach out to Tom Gosselin.

In addition to supporting dealers by freeing up their inventory for cash, The Pro’s Closet supports dealers through its Trade-Up program. This program works as a new customer acquisition and sales channel for the dealer network by allowing customers to trade in the bike they have for the bike they want at their local IBD. From now through May 31st, TPC will give an additional $100 on Trade-Up vouchers resulting in an in-store purchase. The TPC Trade-Up program is available to all IBDs through their access to the Quality Bicycle Products (QBP) portal.

“We view The Pro’s Closet’s function in our industry as a way to free up cash for consumers to buy new bikes,” said Travis Erwin, CRO at The Pro’s Closet. “In current conditions, we believe we can help local dealers by taking inventory off their floors and freeing up cash that they can use to cover payroll, rent and other critical expenses.”

The Pro’s Closet also wants to support individuals working in the outdoor industry by offering an additional $100 to their bike’s trade-in value when they are selling or trading in a bike to The Pro’s Closet. To qualify, submissions will have to be accompanied by a recognized industry email address.

Especially at this time, freeing up cash for dealers, their customers, and employees has never been safer, easier or quicker. The Pro’s Closet strongly encourages consumers looking for a new bike to visit their local IBD and enquire about Trade-Up options.
