Aliso Viejo, Calif. – May 1, 2023 – Former Creative and Design Director at Evil Bikes, Mike Giese, begins a new chapter as a key stakeholder on the GT brand team. In this new role, Mike will oversee product development, engineering and graphic teams with a primary focus on industrial design.

“The staff at GT are a combination of skill, passion, professionalism, creativity and talent. Mike Giese embodies all of those attributes both on and off the bike. We are super excited to welcome Mike aboard as Head of Product, this is a big move!” – Mike Marro, Head of Marketing – GT

Going back to his earliest memories, Mike’s life has been based around two wheels. He and his brother grew up building dirt jumps in active neighborhood construction zones and finding anything they could jump with their bikes. This obsession with bicycles morphed into an obsession with motocross bikes. That obsession saw Mike progress from stylish amateur to professional racer. He raced in the pro ranks for nearly 8 years, all while going to school to pursue his degree in engineering and design. Industrial Design was the perfect hybrid of Mikes engineering-geared brain and passion for art and design. During this time, his childhood passion for bicycles started to show itself once again and Mike focused his efforts to grow his career within the cycling industry.

Mike has been designing products within the cycling and motorsport industry for the last decade. Starting at Jett Development, a design agency in Windsor Colorado, where he designed products across the board for cycling and motorsport industries. Moving forward, he was fortunate enough to be part of the ground floor team at Trust Performance, alongside founders Jason Schiers, Hap Seliga, and Dave Weagle. The opportunity to think outside the box and push the bounds of innovation alongside industry legends was a truly special experience. Following Trust Performance, Mike joined the team at Evil Bikes, which evolved to the role of Design Director and Creative Director over the past 4 years.

Looking forward, Mike says, I am very excited to join the already star-studded team at GT Bicycles. GT has a rich heritage of cutting edge innovation and industry leading products. It's funny, everyone seems to have a story about GT. Maybe it was their first bike, their BMX race bike of choice, I-Drive or Triple Triangle nostalgia, or the long list of iconic riders that filled the rosters of the GT MTB/BMX teams over the years. Either way, people have stories to tell about GT and the imprint this iconic brand has made on the cycling industry. I am looking forward to joining the GT family for this next chapter in the ever-progressing GT story. It's going to be a fun one. Let the good times roll!
