Nederland, Colorado — After a brief detour, Tin Shed Sports is coming home.

In May 2024, Nederland’s favorite bike and ski shop was acquired by a Boulder-based company. While the intention was growth, the reality didn’t quite match the plan. A few wrong turns later, a group of local residents—longtime bikers, skiers, and community members—have come together to buy Tin Shed back and return it to what it’s always been: a community hub with a passion for the trails, slopes, and people of the Peak to Peak.

"Let’s just say … mistakes were made," said a representative of the new local ownership group. "But like any good Ned ride, sometimes you realize you’re horribly turned around—and it’s time to find your way back."

This new chapter of Tin Shed, dubbed Take 2, is all about reconnection: with the community, with our core values, and with the people who made the shop what it is. That means a renewed focus on service, repairs, parts & accessories, and local events—not to mention seeing those familiar faces who’ve supported us through every season.

To celebrate, Tin Shed will host a “Take 2” relaunch party on Saturday, May 10, featuring group rides, live music, gear deals, and plenty of hugs and high-fives. More details to come.

The shop will be closed from Monday, April 28 through Sunday, May 4 to make the transition. On Monday, May 5, the old becomes new again. Stop by, say hello, and be part of this new-old chapter.

Because sometimes, the best way forward … is to go back to where it all began.
