Click-on electric system adds eBike capability to titanium bikes in minutes.

Sussex, UK  – Enigma Bicycle Works has partnered with Skarper to bring eBike conversion technology to its range of titanium and steel bikes, with compatibility across both new and existing models.

The click-on, click-off electric assist system gives riders the flexibility to add power when desired while preserving the ride quality, fit, and aesthetic associated with Enigma.

Pairing Skarper’s patented DiskDrive system with frames engineered for long-term durability offers riders greater freedom in how their bike supports them over time. Electric assistance can be introduced as required, while the core characteristics of the frame remain unchanged, presenting a practical alternative to fully integrated eBikes. For riders unsure whether they may want electric assistance in the future, the Skarper system removes the need to make that decision at the point of purchase.

“Riders develop a lasting connection with the bikes they choose, particularly when they are built from titanium and intended to perform for decades,” says Jim Walker, Managing Director of Enigma Bicycle Works.

“Our partnership with Skarper reflects a belief that electric assist should enhance that connection, not replace it. By designing our bikes to be Skarper-ready, we’re giving riders the freedom to adapt their bike as their needs evolve, without compromising the ride quality and craftsmanship they expect from us.”

Developed in collaboration with Red Bull Advanced Technologies and supported by six-time Olympic Champion Sir Chris Hoy, the Skarper system brings proven engineering to Enigma’s titanium and steel bikes.

Compact, removable, and designed for intuitive use, the system delivers responsive, natural-feeling assistance suited to long-distance riding.

The Skarper unit is a universal mounting system that can take a bike from box to ride-ready in under five minutes. Compatible across road, gravelall-road, and adventure bikes, the removable design allows riders to introduce electric support only when required. Positioned as a titanium bike first, with optional electric assist available when specified, thepartnership reflects Enigma’s focus on long-term ownership, adaptable design, and sustainability.

All Enigma frames can now be specified as Skarper-ready, with retrofit options available for existing owners. Professional installation is offered through Enigma’s Sussex workshop, and test rides of Skarper-equipped bikes can be arranged for riders interested in experiencing the system first-hand.

As Enigma marks its 20th anniversary year, this partnership reflects a continued focus on bikes designed for relevance over decades rather than product cycles. By pairing enduring frame materials with technology capable of evolving alongside the rider, Enigma is expanding choice while reinforcing its long-held approach to thoughtful, future-focused design.
