COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – April 8, 2026 – USA Cycling is pleased to announce a series of staffing updates within its Sports Performance department as the organization invests and builds toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
With 2028 firmly in focus, USA Cycling is making significant investments in people and resources to support its medal ambitions and, most importantly, to better serve athletes over the next three years, and beyond. This momentum reflects a clear commitment to long-term success, as new and existing staff work together to build something special for the future. As part of this effort, USA Cycling has added several employees to build its Performance Services team, fully staff the Para-Cycling program following its integration in July 2025, and elevating long-time contractors into expanded roles.
"Preparing for a home Games requires intentional investment, and that starts with building the strongest possible coaching staff and sports science team around our athletes. These staffing updates reflect our commitment to creating an environment where athletes can perform at their very best," said USA Cycling CEO Brendan Quirk. "We believe 10 medals at the LA28 Olympics is within reach, and in the Paralympics, we'll far surpass the eight medals we earned at Paris 2024. At the same time, we're taking a long-term view by increasing our support of Under-23 and Junior development opportunities to ensure American cycling excels on the global stage long after the LA28 Games are done."
Chief of Sports Performance Jim Miller added, "The momentum we're building is exciting. By expanding our staff and strengthening support across our Olympic and Paralympic disciplines, we're laying the foundation for sustained success. We've established a dedicated Performance Services team to fully support our athletes at every level, and we're proud to have assembled one of the strongest support teams for our para-cycling program as we work to take it to the next level. We've also elevated proven contractors into expanded roles, recognizing the impact and commitment they've already made to our programs. This marks an exciting new chapter for USA Cycling Sports Performance."
