PROVIDENCE, R.I. (BRAIN) — Holding company Eldridge Industries announced on Friday that it acquired protective gear company G-Form and intends to expand the product line.

G-Form designs protective gear for mountain biking, skiing, and snowboarding, in addition to several team sports. The transaction also will provide capital to expand its SmartFlex impact protection technology, which is designed to allow ease of movement while minimizing injury risk by hardening on impact.

Mountain biking products include knee and elbow pads, shorts, gloves, and compression-padded shirts.

"We are excited about our partnership with Eldridge and this next phase of growth for G-Form," said Glen Giovanucci, G-Form CEO. "Eldridge is widely known for its deep expertise in sports and media."

Eldridge is based in Greenwich, Connecticut, and invests in other industries, including technology, insurance, and real estate.

The SmartFlex padding is made at the company factory in Rhode Island with products distributed in more than 40 countries.
