Chrome opens pop-up store in Berlin

Published December 17, 2012

BERLIN, Germany (BRAIN) — Urban bike accessories brand Chrome Industries has opened a pop-up retail store in the heart of Berlin for the holidays.

The location serves multiple purposes: during the day it's primarily a retail store, but after hours it becomes an art exhibition and messenger bar.

Store activities include a weekly rotating Artist Tee Shirt Series featuring art from local artist, printed on-site by Berlin's Black Ink Press.

The store also showcases Project Messenger, Chrome's photography exhibition and fundraiser that features portraits of messengers.

"Berlin inspires us," said Chrome president Steve McCallion. "The city understands urban bike as recreation and utility. We've been distributing our gear here for over 14 years and this perspective continues to shape our philosophy. This pop-up is as much a retail space as it is an opportunity to learn more and to develop the urban bike category."
