Wilier Cento10AIR takes a new approach to aerodynamics

Published July 7, 2016

ATLANTA (BRAIN) — Wilier's new Cento10AIR was designed to combine aerodynamics, low weight, and high ride quality. The company said its research helped it design a frame and fork as a whole for aerodynamic efficiency, rather than focusing on just the frame's front end.

The result is a design that has more frontal area than Wilier's Cento1AIR model, but with a claimed 8 percent improvement in aerodynamic efficiency overall. The bike also features Wilier's new Alabarda integrated bar and stem.

The fork has wider legs than earlier models, to decrease wind turbulance even with tires as wide as 28mm.

The Cento10AIR will be sold in the  United States in two complete build options, and two frameset options:

  • Cento10AIR Dura-Ace 9100 with RS21 wheels and Alabarda integrated bar/stem will retail at $6,949.
  • Cento10AIR Ultegra Di2 with RS21 wheels and Alabarda integrated bar/stem will retail at $6,399.
  • The frameset with Alabarda will retail at $4,499. Without Alabarda will be $3,749.
