Ducati to launch e-bike developed with Thok

Published October 31, 2018

MILAN (BRAIN) — At its 2019 model year presentation this weekend, Italian motorcycle maker Ducati will launch its first e-bike, an enduro model developed with the Italian e-bike brand Thok. The presentation in Milan will be streamed live on premiere.ducati.com.

The Ducati MIG-RR is an offshoot of Thok's MIG series with unusual features. For example, the bikes have 29-inch wheels and 170 mm travel at the front, combined with 27.5-inch wheels with 160 mm of travel at the rear. The bikes are set up with FOX Factory Kashima suspension, carbon fiber Renthal handlebars, Mavic wheels, four-piston Shimano Saint brakes and an 11-speed Shimano XT gear set. The MIG-RR has a Shimano Steps E8000 motor powered by a 504 Wh battery.

The battery is positioned underneath the down tube, which Ducati said helps produce a low center of gravity. It will be distributed throughout Europe via the Ducati dealership network starting next spring.
