Citi Bike e-bikes are back on New York City streets.

NEW YORK (BRAIN) — Ten months after pulling e-bikes from the streets because of brake concerns, Lyft unveiled redesigned Citi Bike e-bikes on Wednesday.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection has ruled that e-bikes fall under the same category as electric motorcycles and therefore share an exclusion, granted in September, from the Trump administration's Section 301 tariffs on Chinese imports. Importers of Chinese e-bikes are now exempt from paying the 25% tariff imposed in August 2018.

ALBANY, N.Y. (BRAIN) — New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo tweeted last month that he would propose legislation to legalize e-bikes and e-scooters in the state. He said he would announce the legislation during his State of the State speech, which he delivered Wednesday. Instead, Cuomo, did not mention e-bikes in his speech.
