Warwood Tool Company introduces new Wildland Hoe for trail builders

Published June 18, 2026

WHEELING, W.Va. (BRAIN) — Warwood Tool Company has launched the Wildland Hoe, a forged 1060 American steel tool built for trail building, brush clearing, land maintenance and field work.

"Designed for people who maintain trails, manage acreage and work in tough outdoor conditions, the Wildland Hoe combines Warwood’s American manufacturing heritage with practical features built for daily use in the field.

The tool features three sharpened working edges, a 60-inch American ash handle and a locking-bolt head system designed for field serviceability.

“We built the Wildland Hoe after spending time with the people who would actually use it,” said Chris Novak, director of marketing and e-commerce at Warwood Tool Company. “I’ve worked with land managers in person and talked with trail builders from West Virginia to California. The same priorities kept coming up: durability, edge retention, field serviceability and a tool that can handle hard ground, roots and brush.”

The Wildland Hoe is forged from 1060 American steel and heat-treated for durability and edge retention. Its three sharpened working edges give users multiple surfaces for cutting roots, clearing brush, shaping trail, breaking soil and managing overgrowth. The locking-bolt head system allows the tool to be serviced in the field, making it useful for crews working away from a shop, truck or equipment trailer.

The Wildland Hoe expands Warwood’s line of American-made forestry and land management tools, joining the Warwood Pulaski Axe, Forest Adze Hoe, Wood Splitting Maul and the Warwood Perfect Axe.

The Wildland Hoe is available beginning June 19 at warwoodtool.com for $70.
