LAS VEGAS, NV (BRAIN)—The mood was a jubilant one yesterday at DPM Sports Booth 2451.
“We’re thrilled,” said DPM Sports owner Ed Uribe, talking for the first time publicly about distributing Dolan Bikes in the United States. “Tuesday night all our reps got to hear the news and they were thrilled. These bikes are such eye candy.”
Terry Dolan has been designing and building championship frames for the past three decades. Dolan Bikes have been ridden to Olympic, National and World titles and to Grand Tour and Classics victories, both under the Dolan name and as private label frames built for other brands.
“This guy is probably one of the best frame builders of the past 10 years,” Uribe said. “We had been discussing this with him for quite a while. We’re going to work with his flagship models in each category.”
That means growth for DPM Sports. The company will get to work right away on creating a Dolan USA Web site, while cross promoting Dolan with Spiuk to different Tri organizations.
“We want them on Dolan Bikes and Spiuk gear,” Uribe said.
Highlights among the Dolan line have to be the Aria and Arc. The Aria is Time Trail specific with a 12k weave monocoque carbon fiber frame and Alpina Wing full carbon fork.
The Arc was built specifically for Track. Features a 12k weave ultra hi-modulus UDP carbon fiber monocoque frame with stainless steel replaceable dropouts.
Uribe didn’t have retail prices for these models yet. —Jason Norman
