Action To Distribute Jagwire In Northeast

Published August 26, 2008

BLOOMINGTON, MN (BRAIN)—Jagwire USA has partnered with Action Bicycle USA to distribute its line of performance control system products, including brake pads, housings and cables in the Northeast. Jagwire products will be available from Action in the fall.

Action Bicycle can provide one-day ground shipping from its northern New Jersey warehouse to New York City, Connecticut, Rhode Island and parts of Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. Orders can be ground shipped in two days to New England and as far south as Virginia.

"Action Bicycle is extremely happy to bring Jagwire products on board,” said Wayne Neufeld, purchasing director for Action Bicycle. “Our partnership with Jagwire will offer dealers in the Northeast the ease of getting Jagwire products in a timely fashion."

Action Bicycle joins KHS and Hawley in expanding Jagwire’s reach to certain parts of the country. Quality Bicycle Products remains the brand’s master distributor but allows Jagwire freedom to work with other distributors.

“Jagwire has the flexibility to partner with best-in-class distributors like Action Bicycles, to further the line in the U.S. market,” said Jason Grantz, Jagwire USA marketing director. “By making the Jagwire line available to regional partners in strategic locations around the U.S. we are advancing a strategy to make our products available by two-day ground shipping anywhere in the country.”

Jagwire contracts with QBP to produce all of its marketing worldwide. Grantz handles Jagwire’s international marketing and product management out of QBP’s Bloomington, Minnesota, facility. Grantz admitted it is a bit of a balancing act representing both companies, but said ultimately he makes decisions based on what’s best for the Jagwire brand.

“I’m a QBP employee leased to Jagwire, but most of the time I have to operate in the best interest of Jagwire,” Grantz said. “In opening action I had to go at it from what’s best for the brand.”
