Peak Region Show Draws More than 500

Published February 24, 2009

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (BRAIN)—Peak Region Cyclist magazine hosted its first ever bike show this past Saturday with nice results.

According to Peak Region Cyclist founder and industry veteran Jon Severson, more than 500 people showed up.

"Exhibitors were impressed with the type of people that showed up," Severson said. "And retailers said they had been waiting 15 to 20 years for someone to do something like this."

Exhibitors included Moots, Magura, Carmichael Training Systems and REI. Severson said he hopes to attract more big names for next year's show, trying to work around big events like Frostbike and the North American Handmade Bike Show.

The show included companies exhibiting product, a bike swap area, small display of regional bike history, advocacy groups discussing trail building and a bicycle art area.
