Titus, Crankbrothers Partners on Two Bikes

Published April 16, 2009

TEMPE, AZ (BRAIN)—Titus Cycles and Crankbrothers have formed a new partnership that showcases both company’s new 2009 product offerings. The special makeup build kits by Titus will feature the new Cobalt and Iodine wheelsets and will be offered on the Titus 2009 FTM, X and El Guapo models.

The FTM and the X build kits will be upgraded to the new Cobalt wheelset, at no additional charge (a value of $400). The bright blue anodizing of the wheels will then be complimented with a matching blue anodized seat collar, rocker bolts, derailleur hanger and other small parts on the bike. To top it off, Titus is also adding a matching set of crankbrothers Egg Beater SL pedals.

Once again, the centerpiece for the El Guapo build is the new crankbrothers Iodine wheelset in bright orange, which have proven to be super-rugged, yet very lightweight. To match the rugged good looks of the El Guapo, the special build will feature the all new 2010 Fox DHX RC@ coil-over rear shock, an E-Thirteen dual-ring chain guide mated to the FSA Gravity Light crank, and the powerful Magura Louise BAT brakeset. Topping off this premium build is Crankbrothers Joplin adjustable seatpost, Acid pedals and the bright orange pop of matching anodized bolts and small parts throughout the bike.

“When Titus approached us with the concept we knew it would be a hit right away,” said Andrew Herrick, Vice President of crankbrothers. “Our brands align very well and to have our new wheels showcased on these special kits in the heart of the spring selling season, it was really a no-brainer on our end”.

“In this market, you’ve got to be thinking of ways to set your bikes apart from everybody else,” said Pat Hus, chief executive officer of Titus Cycles. “The Crankbrothers wheels are so distinct visually and such great performers technically that they were the ideal fit for this special promotion. In the end, the customer is the one that really stands to gain from this opportunity. With people watching what they are spending these days you have got to give them a solid reason to break from their cash. We’re pretty confident that with the value-added from the wheel upgrade and free pedals, plus the visual impact, customers are going to be compelled to take advantage of this deal."

The special offerings will be available for a limited time beginning in early May, so those interested in capturing one of these eye-catching beauties should act fast.
