BionX Providing Transportion at PressCamp

Published February 24, 2010

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA (BRAIN)—BionX will give a Lifeboat Events PressCamp 2010 special edition “BionX-powered bike” to every editor and event staff member at PressCamp in order to provide eco-friendly transport and enhance the sustainability of the event.

PressCamp will take place June 22-25 at Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah. The event brings together top journalists and a select group of industry companies in an intimate setting to talk about and test new products.

This is the first year that BionX will exhibit at the event. A Canadian company, subsidiary of Magna Marque International, BionX designs, develops and manufactures electric propulsion systems for bicycles. They are the only company in the bicycle industry providing complete and proven solutions to bicycle manufacturers and consumers through retrofit systems.

“We’re thrilled to provide green transportation for PressCamp,” said Vincent Lamoureux, global sales and marketing director for BionX. “We believe our products are a great way to reduce carbon emissions and change the mode of transportation. PressCamp is the perfect venue to tell our story to a key group of influencers.”

Magna Marque, with its BionX brand, is committed to providing viable transportation options to help ease urban congestion. By giving each attending journalist a bike powered by BionX to use during the event and back at home, BionX hopes to help change commuting behavior.

“BionX coming on board to PressCamp is great news,” said Lance Camisasca, president of Lifeboat Events. “They’re our first e-bike brand, which is an important and growing segment of the industry. The bikes they provide will be a convenient and fun way for the editors to get around Park City.”

PressCamp is striving to be as eco-friendly as possible. In addition to the BionX initiative, the event is also featuring reusable water bottles from CamelBak to reduce waste.

The event is expecting 22 editors from 30 publications and Web sites. Representatives from nearly every bike industry publication and website will attend the event, along with journalists from mainstream publications such as The New York Times, USA Today, Sports Illustrated, Men’s Journal, Los Angeles Times, Wired, Outside and Mountain Sports + Living.

PressCamp is nearly sold out. Already 24 brands have registered, including BionX, Blue Competition Cycles, BMC Racing, CamelBak, Cannondale, Cateye, Clif, Dahon, EFX, Fox Racing Shox, Freedom, Gore Bike Wear, Gore RideOn Cable Systems, GT Bicycles, Lazer Helmets, Mongoose, Pedro’s, Ridley, Rudy Project, Saris Cycle Racks, Schwinn, Scott USA, Sugoi and WTB.

Lifeboat Events conceived of PressCamp to provide small and medium-sized brands with big-brand exposure in advance of the fall trade shows. In addition to PressCamp, Lifeboat Events is also hosting DealerCamp in 2010 to create a similar opportunity for suppliers and retailers.

Space at PressCamp is limited and is available on a first-come first-served basis. Learn more at lifeboatevents.com (click on link) or contact Lance Camisasca at 949-444-8805 or lance@lifeboatevents.com.
