South Shore Distributing moves • Triathlon America announces conference speakers • Third Philly Bike Expo planned for October •

HOUSTON, TX (BRAIN)—South Shore Distributing is closing early Wednesday to prepare for a move into a larger warehouse. It will be closed Thursday and Friday, reopening Monday, Jan. 16

The skateboard supplier, which counts a few hundred bike shops among its customers, will gain about 10 to 15 percent more space at the new 49,000-square-foot warehouse, which it will share with another business. The new facility will be owned instead of leased, said the companys Damian Hebert.

South Shore will also install new servers and phone system, but its phone number remains the same, (713) 926-3295, as does its website, www.skatenet.com.

The new address is: 5235 Glenmont, Houston, TX 77081.

Triathlon America announces speakers for conference

SAN DIEGO, CA (BRAIN)—The trade association Triathlon America has announced speakers and session schedules for its second annual industry conference, which will be held February 19-21 in San Diego.

Keynote speakers will include Marisol Casado, the president of the International Triathlon Union and member of the International Olympic Committee. Casado will speak about triathlon, the Olympics and the role of the ITU as the world's governing body for triathlon. The other keynote speaker is Rob Urbach, CEO of USA Triathlon, who will discuss USAT's vision for the future of triathlon.
 
Other panelists and speakers include  Andrew Messick  (Ironman),  Charlie Patten (Rev3), authors  Matt Fitzgerald and Marty Dugard, Paul Steely White (Transportation Alternatives NYC), Dan Schorr (Start to Finish Marketing) and Dan Empfield (Slowtwitch).

At the conference, Triathlon American will announce results of the Triathlon America and Active Network Market Research Survey, which they say is one of the most comprehensive studies of men and women participating in the sport of triathlon to date.

Third Philly Bike Expo planned for October
PHILADELPHIA, PA (BRAIN)—The Philly Bike Expo is returning for its third year on October 27th & 28th and organizers are still looking for event sponsors. They sold out space for the 2011 show and had a larger turnout,despite an October snowstorm.

The show is open to custom framebuilders, bicycle manufacturers, creators and  distributors of cycling accessories, apparel and components exhibit their products. Seminars and demonstrations run throughout the weekend. Rides, parties, swap meet and bicycle fashion show round out the festivities. Exhibitor registration opens February 1.
