PDW supports pump track • Kryptonite offers online anti-theft registration

PORTLAND, OR (BRAIN) Thursday July 12 2012 9:10 AM MT— Portland Design Works donated $4,500 to the Northwest Trail Alliance and Portland Parks and Recreation to pay for construction of the Ventura Park Pump in Northeast Portland.

A pilot program, the Ventura Park Pump Track is the latest effort by the Alliance to increase access to and awareness of mountain bike riding in the Portland region. Neighborhood children have been taking advantage of the bike skills course since the initial construction phase completed last fall.

“We hope to build on the success of this project to create more opportunities for mountain biking in Portland,” said Erik Olson, co-founder of Portland Design Works. “We’re happy that the track has been supported by the Hazelwood Neighborhood.”

Founded in 2008, Portland Design Works is a manufacturer of bicycle accessories and supports the Northwest Trail Alliance as a member of 1% For the Planet, a global group of companies that donate one percent of their sales to environmental and advocacy organizations.
