EKOCYCLE grew out of's desire to reduce waste at music concerts. He later joined Coca-Cola to start an initiative to encourage recycling.

The Tern bikes for EKOCYCLE have hydroformed frames made of aluminum containing a minimum of 10 percent recycled content. Other components contained recycled materials, including rims made in a solar-powered factory. The limited edition bikes have dynamo-powered lights, reducing the need for batteries.

The EKOCYCLE Shop opened at Harrods earlier this month. The two Tern models will retail for $3,765 and $1,395. Next month, Tern will give away one of the models on Facebook.
